Why I’m Building This? — by Colette 't Hart
Why I’m Building This? — by Colette 't Hart

DECEMBER 13th, 2025 - BY COLETTE 'T HART

Every few months, the AI conversation swings to a new extreme.

One week it’s AGI is imminent.
The next it’s AI will replace everyone.
Then it’s AI will destroy democracy, childhood, work, and meaning itself.

I’ve watched the same cycle play out across 60 Minutes segments, founder warnings, military demos, clinical miracles, and quietly devastating stories of humans used as invisible training data. Each story is true. And none of them, on their own, tell us what to do next.

Here’s what I’ve learned building in this space:

The real problem isn’t AI capability. It’s the absence of systems that help humans build judgment.

The Myth: AI Replaces Skills

The dominant narrative says AI makes skills obsolete.
That execution is automated.
That expertise no longer matters.

But that’s backwards.

For most knowledge workers, skills were never properly trainable in the first place.

Athletes have practice fields.
Pilots have simulators.
Surgeons have supervised reps.

Knowledge workers?
We had job titles, vague feedback, and annual reviews.

No practice. No reps. No scoring.

AI doesn’t erase skills—it finally makes deliberate practice possible.

What Actually Matters Now?

When AI handles execution, five things become irreplaceable:

  • Judgment
  • Sense-making
  • Problem framing
  • Tradeoff awareness
  • Ethical reasoning under uncertainty

These aren’t adjectives.
They’re behaviors that show up in artifacts: decisions, analyses, designs, conversations.

But you can’t improve what you can’t define.

That’s why I’m building systems that start with one simple question:

What does “good” actually look like—here, now, in this context?

From Fear to Practice

Instead of asking “Will AI replace us?”
I’m asking “Can we finally train like professionals?”

That means:

  • Turning fuzzy expectations into clear rubrics
  • Using AI as a consistent coach, not a judge
  • Creating practice loops where feedback is fast, measurable, and humane
  • Letting teams compound learning instead of repeating mistakes

Hiring, development, and evaluation should all use the same standards—not vibes, not pedigree, not performance theater.

Humans Still Matter—But Only If We Train Them

I take AI risk seriously.
I’ve watched the same reports you have—on autonomous weapons, exploited labor, manipulated kids, and unchecked power.

That’s exactly why this work matters.

If we don’t build systems that strengthen human judgment, AI will amplify the weakest parts of how we already work.

If we do, it becomes something else entirely:
A mirror.
A coach.
A practice environment for thinking clearly under pressure.

This Is What I’m Building

I’m not building hype.
I’m not building a smarter black box.
I’m building practice infrastructure for the AI age.

Because the future won’t belong to those with the most powerful models.

It will belong to the people—and teams—who defined what good looks like, practiced it deliberately, and earned their judgment the hard way.

That’s the work.
That’s the why.

Why We’re on the Right Track?

The AI industry is shifting fast — toward proactive systems, diversified models, and regulation that demands clarity. Idonea isn’t chasing those trends. We’re building the infrastructure that makes them work for humanity.

Because the future of work won’t be shaped by who builds the biggest model. It will be shaped by who builds the fairest, most transparent, most human systems around AI.

That’s where Idonea is leading.
